On 9 September 2024, the Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA) joined a high-level meeting with the Commissioner for Internal Market, Thierry Breton, and key automotive industry stakeholders to review the progress and discuss the next steps in advancing the transition towards zero-emission vehicles.
The Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA), represented by its President Jakub Stolfa, expressed gratitude for collaborating with Commissioner Breton and Commissioner Schmit and acknowledged the success of the Pact for Skills action. The ASA contributed to the discussion by emphasising the importance of a holistic approach to education and training development, covering an initial and continuous education to support the automotive transition and highlighting the need for further support and expansion of the Pact for Skills initiative. Furthermore, ASA supported the establishment of an effective and comprehensive monitoring system while ensuring support from all key stakeholders involved.
The meeting, which aligned with the objectives of the #Route35 platform, focused on setting the stage for the European automotive sector’s shift to zero-emission vehicles by 2035.
