The Automotive Skills Alliance guests at Skills for Industry high-level conference

The Automotive Skills Alliance participated in the high-level conference “Upskilling and Reskilling in the Post-Covid era. Fostering new services and jobs creation”, organised by Skills for Industry on 30 June.

The event focused on the upskilling and reskilling challenges that the EU is facing, presented good-practice cases, scenarios and recommendations for creating new training and job opportunities.

More than 30 speakers and panellists spoke in front of a virtual audience of more than 300 participants, discussing how new technologies are transforming the way people work and acquire new skills.

Intervening via video during the warm-up of the conference (see above), Dr. Jakub Stolfa, Automotive Skills Alliance and DRIVES Project Coordinator, highlighted the value that the automotive industry represents for the European economy and the commitment that the whole sector, through the Alliance, is putting into meeting the challenge posed by the European Commission with the Pact for Skills.

Launched under the European Skills Agenda on 10 November 2020, the Pact for Skills aims to mobilise all stakeholders—industry, social partners, education and training providers, public authorities at all levels and the workers themselves—to take decisive action towards large-scale demand-led upskilling and reskilling initiatives.
