ASA Engages in EU Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the Automotive Industry

On 30 January, the European Commission launched the Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the European Automotive Industry, bringing together key industry leaders, social partners, and stakeholders to address the sector’s most pressing challenges. This initiative aims to strengthen competitiveness, innovation, and industrial jobs, with an Action Plan to be presented in March 2025.

The Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA) welcomes this initiative. As the automotive industry undergoes a profound transformation, skills are at the heart of ensuring competitiveness, innovation, and the preservation of high-quality industrial jobs. ASA, as a strategic partnership fostering horizontal sectoral collaboration on skills connecting industry, educational and training providers, social partners and regions to jointly collaborate on European, national and regional levels, is already working on and ready to support and further up-scale and implement key actions contributing to the industry’s green and digital transition.

ASA Contributes to Skills and Social Considerations Dialogue

On 13 February, the European Commission held a dedicated discussion within the Strategic Dialogue on skills and social considerations within the automotive sector, led by Executive Vice-President Roxana Minzatu.

Representatives from ASA member organizations, including the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA), Ceemet – European Tech & Industry Employers, IndustriALL European Trade Union, as well as the Automotive Regions Alliance contributed to the discussion.

ASA President Jakub Stolfa presented concrete proposals to enhance upskilling and reskilling:
