On November 10th, ASA marks its 4th anniversary—a significant milestone in its mission to transform the workforce across the Automotive-mobility ecosystem. Since its launch, ASA has remained dedicated to driving the green and digital transition, equipping industry professionals and students with essential skills to succeed in an ever-evolving landscape.
This anniversary reflects ASA’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration within a dynamic network of over 110 members spanning 26 countries. As a proud partner of the European Pact for Skills, ASA unites industry, educational and training institutions, regional authorities, and social partners, all working towards support of skills agenda and concrete up-/re-skilling activities for future of the ecosystem.
ASA’s strategic partnerships amplify its impact. Collaborations with the Automotive Regions Alliance (ARA) and the European Committee of the Regions’ Interregional Group “Future of the Automotive Industry” (CoRAI) led to the signing of a Working Agreement in Navarra, Spain, establishing a unified approach for a just and sustainable transition for European automotive regions. ASA has also collaboration with the EIT Skills Institute in the battery sector. The ASA represented Automotive-Mobility skills agenda in key European Commission initiatives like Mobility Pathways and Route 35, further supporting skills development across critical areas in the ecosystem. On the level of VET education ASA co-organize VET Forums in the battery sector and hydrogen sector.
With impactful projects such as DRIVES, ALBATTS, and recent initiatives like FLAMENCO, VOLTAGE, and TRIREME to provide just couple of examples, the ASA partnership continues to advance skills intelligence and lay the foundation for effective upskilling and reskilling activities, skills recognition and readiness for the needed skills. Additionally, ASA supports regional cooperation across Europe, organizing annual Study Visits with partners, such as those in Stuttgart (2023) and Grand Est (2024), to facilitate hands-on learning and the exchange of best practices.
Skills Hub serves as a comprehensive, one-stop database for training within the automotive-mobility ecosystem, bringing together more than 180 courses from various providers—organized through a well-structured and coherent mapping exercise. Learning Platform, features over 70 online courses, offering invaluable upskilling and reskilling opportunities to empower professionals as they navigate the green and digital transitions.
ASA’s newly launched organizational structure enhances pragmatic collaboration by focusing on Topic Committees in Technology, Education & Training, Regional Collaboration and Implementation, Diversity & Attractiveness and Social Elements. These committees, along with dedicated Working Groups and Task Forces, ensure a targeted approach to sector-specific challenges, supporting the workforce preparation to the ecosystem developments.
Looking forward, ASA remains committed to leading change within the Automotive-Mobility ecosystem, offering the horizontal collaboration, skills intelligence, tools, insights, and connections necessary to thrive in a digital and sustainable future. Here’s to many more years of cooperation, partnership, and innovation!
