Developments in the ASA Working Groups – initiatives at the beginning of the EU Year of Skills

Since the beginning of the year, multiple ASA Working Groups have created the opportunities to meet and initiate activities focused on supporting up & re-skilling needs and discussing common solutions at local and regional levels.

Working Group 1 Horizontal Issues has outlined a series of meetings focused on attracting talent in the automotive industry, apprenticeship needs and solutions, transition pathways towards a greener mobility eco-system, as well as funding opportunities.

The Skills Intelligence Working Group (WG3)  has showcased practical examples of currently running skills intelligence projects under the ERASMUS+ funding, to give an idea of which project opportunities are available for submission and what are the possible activities and deliverables.

Regions of the Automotive Skills Alliance are joining forces during the European Year of Skills 2023! The preparation of the 2023 edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities has also started in the ASA.  The aim is to organize a regional partnership to tackle the up- and reskilling action on the ground. Brainstorming about the topic of the joint workshop will be among the main agenda points in the next Regional Implementation Working Group (WG 4) meeting in March 2023.

At the end of January, the ASA also had the Partnership meeting where partners summarised the activities and achievements in 2022 and discussed challenges and concrete plans for 2023.

ASA members can look forward to further activities of the ASA partnership and its various working groups in the coming months. Cooperation is key to tackling the challenges of skills intelligence in the automotive and mobility ecosystem and ensuring a transition that works for all!
